First Day

Today was the kids first day back to school. Claudia had a great introduction to midele school today. She loves her teachers and had two lunches because she was confused by her schedule and went to lunch instead of study hall.

Luke loves his new teachers and thinks his main teacher is really funny! He has a new pricipal and likes him much better then the "old mean lady" they had last year. He has lots of his old friends in class and thinks the year will be fun.

Sophia had her first day of 1st grade and came off the bus with a major Punum ( for you non Jews that is a long face). She said her teacher was mean because she would tell them they could talk then would yell at them to be quiet and not talk. I am sure she will be fine but being quiet is not one of her stronger points so we will see how it goes.

We thought we would post some photos of their first day. The girls modeled their new outfits from Bubby.

Are you ready for some football

Luke is in full football mode after completing 3 weeks of summer training. He has been practicing 4 days a week for 2 hours a day and is ready to play! He had his second scrimmage yesterday and got decent play time, especially for a first year player. They played a Mayfield team and there was no score. His team did come close to scoring but each team got 10 plays then switched sides.

His first real game is Sept. 6th and we will keep you all posted as to how he does. So far no major injuries other then twisting his previously broken ankle but that only kept him down for a few days.

Luke is being played on both offense and defense. On offense he plays receiver and on defense he is playing safety. Luke prefers defense because he says he likes to hit people instead of getting hit.

Uncle Matt and Steph came to his game yesterday to watch and were surprised at how hard they actually hit each other.

Luke is starting school tomorrow as a 4th grader and hopes his new status as a football player will help him score with the ladies.

We look forward to a great season and hope to see the team go to the finals again like they did last year. Luke is also very geared up for The Buckeyes whose season starts on Saturday at noon. So in the spirit of the Bucks Luke sends a shout out to all so send him a response....O-H

Claudia the musician

Claudia has been busy this summer with swimming, the beach, Karate camp and her favorite past time playing piano. Claudia has been taking piano lessons for about a year now and really likes to play. She is speeding through her music books and has picked up the talent of figuring out music by ear. She is the perfect student practicing up to 6 times a day at least even when we wish she wouldn't:)

Claudia starts middle school tomorrow. She is going into 6th grade in the local honors program and is very excited/nervous. She plans on joining Art Club and keeping up here Karate practice and getting her 3rd degree black belt in the next year.

For those of you who remember the independent project she did on St. Peter's Basilica she has yet another one this year. She has heard that this one is even more challenging and starts next week. The project involves a computer presentation and goes through Spring so we will update you as she progresses.

Catching up on summer

I know, I know, I stink at keeping this up to date. The kids have had a busy summer and now that school starts tomorrow we wanted to catch up and post a few blog entries. We have been spending lots of time swimming this summer with all three kids taking lessons during July. They have all improved a ton but the most improved lately was miss Sophia who is now swimming in Lake Erie like a fish. She is very proud of her self and is having fun.

She starts 1st grade tomorrow and is very excited to go all day and stay for lunch and recess. We will keep you posted on the events of her next few weeks of school. Sophia just tested for her blue belt in Karate and is practing by kicking her siblings back ends every chance she gets.
